State Eight Apparel Co. and State Eight Golf exist to make a tangible difference in the lives of South Carolina's youth. We leverage the power of fashion to build confidence and provide both personal and professional opportunities for growth. By weaving together Southern tradition with forward-thinking design, we create apparel that fosters community pride and inspires the next generation of leaders to define their own success. Our commitment extends beyond our products to encompass impactful programs and community engagement across the state. State Eight Apparel Co. isn't just our name—it's our promise to the eighth state in the Union: to cultivate talent, foster ambition, and be a positive influence in the community.
A proud native of Florence, South Carolina, had a remarkable and impactful career in the Marine Corps. His service spanned from combat deployments in Afghanistan and Iraq to leadership roles in recruiting, embassy security, and various training and operational units. His final assignment in Phoenix, Arizona, saw him take on significant responsibilities in training and supporting military personnel, as well as providing crucial support during difficult times for families. His numerous decorations reflect his dedication and exemplary service throughout his career.
First Sergeant Williams began his Marine Corps journey in 2000 when he reported to recruit training at Parris Island, SC. After completing combat training, he earned his occupational specialty in Radio Communications.
His early career saw rapid advancement, earning several promotions from 2001-2002. In 2003, Sergeant Williams' career took him on his first deployment conducting joint task-force operations in Spain in preparation for deployment in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. As a provisional rifle company squad leader, he led a small contingent of Marines conducting operations from Forward Operating Base Ripley in Terin Kowt, Afghanistan, earning both the Combat Action Ribbon and Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
Upon his return from the combat theatre, he received orders to recruiting duty in RSS Tonawanda in Buffalo, New York. After promotion to Staff Sergeant in 2007, he took charge of his recruiting substation before transitioning to Marine Air Support Squadron-1 as Radio Chief.
After his military career, Eddie joined the Arizona Cardinals premium guest services team, recruited at PXG, and began work with The Bob and Renee Parsons Foundation, educating military and first responders on nationally recognized mental health treatments. Additionally, he is on the board of East and West Global Healing, promoting connection to the earth and overall wellness of mind, body, and spirit.
